Gas Pains

Tom grew up in Milwaukee, bartended in Wauwatosa in the '70s and moved here in 1984.

Fall is in the air.

The weekend before last it got down to an overnight low of 39 degrees up north.

The bluebirds have been hammering the elderberries.  The hummingbirds have vamoosed - more than a couple of weeks ago - headed for Central and South America.

Am I the only one to have ever marveled over the migration that such a tiny bird makes every year?

Sinissippi Gal emailed me some more cool bird pictures from one of her predictable visitors.

We're beginning to see transient birds too.

Just the other day we spied some Eastern Phoebes.

The raptor you see at the top of the page and below is also on the move and I have a feeling I'm going to see my own regular representative of this species in the next couple of weeks.
