Guess the critter

Never plant an elderberry bush before you plan for how big they'll actually get.  

Or how they'll spread by root suckers.

Trust me - within only three years they are humongous.

Nonetheless, they are a terrific fall attractant for migrating birds.

Expecially when they're gorging on high energy food as they stage for their fall flight to warmer climes.
