Finally got hammered with a hard frost the other evening.  The tomatoes are kaput.

Japh and I salvaged as many of the fruits as possible, uprooted the plants and hauled everything over to the compost pile.

It's sort of a bittersweet reminder that summer is behind and the transition to winter begins.  I can't believe how quickly the summer growing season flashed-by.

We harvested the remaining potatoes this weekend - roughly three bushels of Kennebec beauties.  All that remains is a half-row of red cabbages.
