Gas Pains

Tom grew up in Milwaukee, bartended in Wauwatosa in the '70s and moved here in 1984.

Commentary, observations and musings about the outdoors, life in general and maybe Tosa politics and personalities will be the order of the day. He savors a lively debate as much as terrific cooking.

Frank The Pheasant

Critters, Romance, Strange But True

Just a bit more than a couple of weeks ago I introduced you to our resident pheasant - Frank.

Since then a few of you have inquired about whether or not he's still around.

Indeed he is.

Frank defies both explanation and death.  He has successfully eluded both of the Labs, he walks along the road with impunity (or is it immunity?), and he has heretofore eluded a feral cat that has been spotted hanging around the barn.  I think he is fond of the yard full of dandelions.

Handsome fella that he is he cuts a sharp figure with his strutting and crowing.  He's always quick to display and put on the moves for me.

Alas, no ladies for this love-lorn bird...
