Yoga at the Market? Why Not!

Events

The Tosa Farmer's Market is really so much more than just a market for fresh foods and plants. It is a collaborative community event that also involves health food education, live music, local businesses, and even yoga - all together in one outdoor space.

As a musician, vegetarian, and recently turned-yoga enthusiast, this is my kinda place. Yoga is where it's at!

In the interest of full-disclosure, Haley of Haleybird Studios (running the yoga part of the Farmer's Market) is a friend. When she told me last year that she was going to be offering yoga at the Farmer's Market, I thought it was a little odd and might seem out of place.

Now that I have been attending classes at Haley's studio regularly, and am really understanding the practice more, I realize that a Farmer's Market is the perfect place for yoga! It is a beautiful, natural, physical form of art. It ties in well with all of the healthy lifestyle sorts of things being promoted at the market. To be able to do yoga outside would be absolutely refreshing. I'm kind of bummed I can't make it!

If you go to tomorrow's market, do check out the yoga that is happening from 8:30-9:30AM. You can try it yourself for a very low price, since there is a "pay what you can" kind of deal (although if you stay for the entire session, it is definitely worth the $15/typical cost). I do believe this will be an ongoing opportunity on Saturday mornings, through July.
