Gas Pains

Tom grew up in Milwaukee, bartended in Wauwatosa in the '70s and moved here in 1984.

Commentary, observations and musings about the outdoors, life in general and maybe Tosa politics and personalities will be the order of the day. He savors a lively debate as much as terrific cooking.

The Garden Chronicles

Friends, Gardening, Terrific Cooking

I have a suspicion that the Tosa Food Pantry is going to be the beneficiary of some surplus garden produce this week.  It has been a busy harvest so far.

Broccoli, pole beans, cabbages, cucumbers, tomatoes, sweet peppers, beets and spinach.

Nice still-life, eh?

Last night friends and I did a couple of awesome beer can chickens on the Weber and at the end we tossed some fresh-picked beans and a chopped garden onion in olive oil and threw the whole mess in the grill wok.

Not only is the flare spectacular...

But the results are spectacular too.

Then this morning we pulled another onion, picked fresh spinach and made a smoked pheasant quiche topped with a sliced tomato.

So far - so good.
