Gas Pains

Tom grew up in Milwaukee, bartended in Wauwatosa in the '70s and moved here in 1984.

Commentary, observations and musings about the outdoors, life in general and maybe Tosa politics and personalities will be the order of the day. He savors a lively debate as much as terrific cooking.

Bragging Rights, Odds and Ends, Sustainable Forestry

This is interesting.

I was reading the Wauwatosa Special Event Guide and Community Map published by the Tosa Chamber of Commerce.

Open it up and inside on the Wauwatosa Community Profile page there is a item titled:  Trees

  • Number of trees planted in 2013: 523
  • Total number of trees: 30,092
  • Tree City USA since 1982

Here's the interesting part.  Stats from this Tosa tree farmer's tree farm.

  • Number of trees planted since 1998:  41,000
  • Total number of trees:  At current stocking levels ≥41,000
  • Certified Tree Farm

Just about the same scale as a city the size of Tosa.

  • Number of employees:  2
