Singers - Consider Auditioning for a Fun, Talented, Tosa-Based Group!

Music

Did you know that the Milwaukee Choristers are a choral ensemble that rehearses regularly in our very own Village of Wauwatosa? They are a fantastic chorus that's been around in the area for over 80 years now, currently under the direction of a nationally-renown conductor, Dr. James Kinchen. They sing such a wide variety of music (one of my favorite features of the group!) from baroque to contemporary, sometimes Broadway, Americana and international music. All this, and they are a super fun group of people who enjoy each others' company both in rehearsals and performances as well as those great post-concert parties :-)

All this I know, yes - because I'm going into my third season of singing with them. My hope is that other locals will try them out too!

You do have to audition... although it is a community chorus, the musicianship of the ensemble is held to a high standard. You've got to know and demonstrate some basics. After that, rehearsals are weekly and there are two weekends of concerts a year. Concerts last year were held in Elm Grove and at Wisconsin Lutheran College. Not bad, huh?

Check out audition information here.

Lastly, here's a link to a way cool video we put together when we were running our Kickstarter Campaign to produce our 80th Anniversary CD (the campaign was a huge success, I might add). It's a good representation of some of the music we do, and also the people who comprise the Choristers!
