Gas Pains

Tom grew up in Milwaukee, bartended in Wauwatosa in the '70s and moved here in 1984.

Commentary, observations and musings about the outdoors, life in general and maybe Tosa politics and personalities will be the order of the day. He savors a lively debate as much as terrific cooking.

Time Warp

Odds and Ends, Outdoors

Sometimes I think that as I age time is somehow speeding-up.

As a child I remember summers being wonderfully long.

The school year was painfully long.

And just the other day I was lamenting the impression that it seems like only yesterday I was fiddling in the garden or riding my bicycle.  I could read the paper on the porch while today I hurriedly fetch the paper from the porch and dust the snow from it before bringing it into the house.

Once again this became painfully obvious to me as Girlfriend and I took a long walk following an icy blast from the north.

The time warp?

Only four months.

It seems like only yesterday.

Incidentally, those sunflowers have been picked clean by the birds.  Nary a seed to be found in those seed heads.
