Gas Pains

Tom grew up in Milwaukee, bartended in Wauwatosa in the '70s and moved here in 1984.

Commentary, observations and musings about the outdoors, life in general and maybe Tosa politics and personalities will be the order of the day. He savors a lively debate as much as terrific cooking.

A Palace Update

Mayor Didier, Politics-Tosa

In case any of you are looking for something to do the Mayor is holding her very first Town Hall Meeting next Tuesday.

Here is the official announcement posted on the website of the Wauwatosa Republican Party.  Plan on attending, 6:30 PM, Tuesday, March 24th in the Garden Room of the Muellner Building at Hart Park.

According to the Tosa GOP a majority of the Common Council members may be present, but no action will be taken

Geez. I wonder which eight individuals constitute that majority?

And naturally no action will be taken.  Otherwise that would be like some of this majority getting together for drinks and discussing the people's business.  Maybe making policy decisions on the side.  Naw.  That might be a violation of the State Open Meetings Law.

I digress.

Now that I know the Wauwatosa Republican Party has this nifty blog I 'm going to have to check it periodically.

Did you know they're hosting a Thirsty Thursday event next Thursday?

It's billed as a gathering for Republicans and conservatives, but mainly for sensible people

OK.  I vote Republican usually more than half of the time.  I'm conservative - but only on the correct issues.  I'd like to think I'm a sensible guy.

What if I showed-up to drink some of their Kool Aid? Do you think they would grant me admittance?  Or would they call me names like they usually do?

The Mayor is going to be the guest speaker.  She is going to tell these conservatives how she was thrifty with taxpayer dollars while continuing to improve the quality of life in Wauwatosa.

Did you catch that?

Wow!  The mayor has been in office less than a year and already my quality of life has improved and thrift reigns supreme.

That is genuinely hilarious.  Sounds to me like a magic kingdom where talking points are supreme.

Pass the Kool Aid - I have been inspired to compose a fairy tale.
