Gas Pains

Tom grew up in Milwaukee, bartended in Wauwatosa in the '70s and moved here in 1984.

Commentary, observations and musings about the outdoors, life in general and maybe Tosa politics and personalities will be the order of the day. He savors a lively debate as much as terrific cooking.

Watcha sell'n out the back of that truck?

Gardening, Life In Tosa

Earlier this year I talked a little smack about gardening

Sometimes you have to be careful about what you ask for.

Little did I know.

Tosa is bringing back the Farmers Market so you you might just want to be looking for that dented, red Chevy Silverado pick-up down at the Wauwatosa Farmer's Market on Saturday morning.

I won't be there as Girlfriend and I have a hunting date together.  Nonetheless you can look for my darling wife - she'll be there.  (She's also the brains of the organization).

She would be the vendor with the Verrückter Deutscher Campingplatz sign.

And she'll be selling pumpkins, decorative gourds, melons, onions and squashes.  Plus fancy Door County Red Osier Dogwood for all of your fall decorating needs.

And get this - all (I really mean all) of the proceeds go to the Wauwatosa Historical Society's Little Red Store.  And best of all - those proceeds will be matched dollar-for-dollar by another entity thereby doubling your pumpkin support of the WHS.

So check it out.

Be sure to tell her Gas sent you.

Incidentally - I think that both the City of Wauwatosa and the organizers of this venue deserve a big hand for waiving the food licensing and discounting the vendor fees for this inaugural event.

Edit - to be clear - I am talking about the sales proceeds of our produce.
