Gas Pains

Tom grew up in Milwaukee, bartended in Wauwatosa in the '70s and moved here in 1984.

Commentary, observations and musings about the outdoors, life in general and maybe Tosa politics and personalities will be the order of the day. He savors a lively debate as much as terrific cooking.

Deer Camp Dispatch - Wrap-Up

Hunt'n, Friends, Life Is Good, Outdoors

Wrapping-up both figuratively and literally.

No deer camp should be without this handy  device.

As a matter of fact - I am of the opinion that no household should be without one.  What a wonderful invention.  The guy that dreamed-up the technology for vacuum sealing of your meat and vegetables and finally slaying the scourge of freezer burn should be knighted.

Braumeister's deer has been butchered, shrink-wrapped and frozen.  Tomorrow I'll drop-off the scraps at the butcher to have them ground into burger.

The guns are safely ensconced in the safe and the house has been tidied-up.

And it's incredibly quiet around here with just me and Girlfriend.  Maybe before we return to Tosa tomorrow we'll grab a shotgun and take a long stroll to fetch the memory card from the trail camera. If we're lucky we'll kick-up some birds.

Until the November gun season deer camp will consist of Braumeister and me chasing the elusive whitetail with our bows.  And we're hopeful to have a big buck hanging before the gang reconvenes for the pre-Thanksgiving ruckus.

It won't be long before the last of the leaves will have fallen.

And once they have - all the easier to stalk your prey.
