On The Road Again - With the Traveling Circus

Hunt'n, Life Is Good, Friends, Strange But True, Hunt Camp Humor

Pretty tough day of hunting today.

Standing corn and standing water all over the place.

And mud, mud and more mud.

Have you ever been to a real life circus?

This year's hunt is shaping-up to be a circus.  Oh sure - we shot a bunch of birds today but nothing came easy.  And some of our set-ups reminded us of a circus act - replete with humorous and bungled opportunities.

This will change tomorrow.

In the mean time I would be willing to bet that I have had the singular honor to hunt as no previous pheasant hunter has ever hunted before.

Really.

I am not making this up.

Today I hunted with a three-legged Labrador retriever named Maggie.  And Maggie did an outstanding job of fetching birds from the worst of conditions.  It is amazing to watch a dog missing a hind leg hunt with such enthusiasm.

And one of our party is a fella named PT Barnum.

Yep.  A direct descendant of the originator of the term - There's a sucker born every minute.

Anybody see a trend unfolding? 

I do.  Because to top it all off -I hunted with the Shortest Man who doubles as the Bearded Lady...
