Gas Pains

Tom grew up in Milwaukee, bartended in Wauwatosa in the '70s and moved here in 1984.

Commentary, observations and musings about the outdoors, life in general and maybe Tosa politics and personalities will be the order of the day. He savors a lively debate as much as terrific cooking.

Deer Camp

Hunt'n, Deer Camp, Friends, Terrific Cooking

Finished the oxtail soup today.

Cooked the stock last night and let it congeal on the porch overnight.  Fatty!

Pulled carrots from the garden this morning and diced and added them.  Chopped celery and frozen garden green beans at the end.  Put the whole pot in the garage to chill and skim one last time tomorrow.  Will probably add some quick-cooking barley before serving.

This year's deer camp was looking like it was going to be short handed.  Android has been posted to Malaysia and The Wench is taking a year-off.

There is a new member in camp this year...

NewGuy.

NewGuy and I took a look round this afternoon for a quick tour and scouting walk.

As everyone else trickled-in bunks were claimed and guns were stacked on the rack in the garage.

Braumeister tapped a fresh keg of Cascade Pale Ale (brewed with hops from the rock wall).  Very yummy.

Smoked chubs and pheasant along with fresh cheese curds and Lawyer's awesome croûtons for preliminaries.

Catfish tacos for dinner tonite.

Catch you on the flip side...
