Gas Pains

Tom grew up in Milwaukee, bartended in Wauwatosa in the '70s and moved here in 1984.

Commentary, observations and musings about the outdoors, life in general and maybe Tosa politics and personalities will be the order of the day. He savors a lively debate as much as terrific cooking.

Observations From the Big Fat Middle

Politics-Tosa, Strange But True, The Big Fat Middle

How many of you remember this fella?

Yep.

Chris Slinker.  Former Community Voice on this page.

I'd be willing to bet that some of you - just like me - cannot recall the name of Chris' blog.  However, your recollection of its content may be similar to mine.

He published a frenzied series of posts leading up to the presidential election.  Correct me if I am mistaken - but didn't they have something to do with a breathless, agitated, sweaty and apocalyptic vision of life without continued Republican rule?

Strike that.

HIS interpretation of life without HIS version of over the top Conservative rule?

And then... POOF!

Mr. Slinker's blog vanished into oblivion.  As ephemeral as swamp gas.

I don't want anyone to get the impression that he simply quit (like someone else from Alaska that you may have heard about).  It is entirely possible he ran out of material.  Or maybe he just felt crummy after the election.  I know I did.

I got over it though.

Nonetheless, I rather miss him.  Don't you?

Do not despair as Chris is back.

In a manner of speaking.

I've learned that he is running for the 14th Assembly District seat presently occupied by Leah Vukmir.

As the lone Tosan - Chris joins David Coon, Dale Kooyenga and Chris Maurer all from Brookfield in a crowded GOP field vying for this post.

Nothing yet over at the State Elections Board identifying a Democratic Party candidate.

Anybody hear any rumors or are they sitting this one out?

Speaking of riding the wagon until the wheels fall off - in the continuing effort to eviscerate from the Republican Party every last vestige of Ronald Reagan's pragmatism - religious conservative Mike Huckabee insists that a Big Tent Will Kill the GOP.

Sorry Mike.

Theocracies will not earn our needed RINO votes...
