Gas Pains

Tom grew up in Milwaukee, bartended in Wauwatosa in the '70s and moved here in 1984.

Commentary, observations and musings about the outdoors, life in general and maybe Tosa politics and personalities will be the order of the day. He savors a lively debate as much as terrific cooking.

A Mother's Day Surprise

Critters, Life In Tosa

As of Monday afternoon only two birds could be found in my hanging basket.

My presumption is their three brethren have already fledged.  It is unlikely a predator could gain a foothold on the basket-full of asparagus fern.  If it could it would have likely taken the entire brood.

I expected that these two would fledge by the end of the week.   Wouldn't you know it - on Tuesday morning I padded out on the porch to fetch the papers and took a peek.  They both flew to the nearest tree.

It's going to be lonely around here with the grandkids all grown and gone.

Will the parents raise a second brood?

Stay tuned...
