No public meeting about Tosa train station on tap

Sept. 28, 2010

There will be no public meeting next week to talk about a potential high-speed rail stop in Wauwatosa.

Alderwoman Linda Nikcevich said she misunderstood a conversation with a state Department of Transportation official. Instead, there may be phone discussions to decide whether meeting with city leaders and the public would be useful.

Nikcevich has been a proponent of high-speed rail and has been lobbying to have Tosa considered as a location for a rail station.

The DOT has been in talks with the city of Brookfield about making that city a stop on the line between Milwaukee and Madison.
