Motorist killed in Brookfield was Wauwatosa woman

A woman killed in a head-on crash in the city of Brookfield was identified by Brookfield police Wednesday as Candace M. Durdin, 69, of Wauwatosa.

The crash was reported about 7 p.m., Tuesday, on North Ave. east of Hollyhock Lane, according to a police department news release.

According to the release, Durdin was driving a Dodge Caravan east on North Avenue when it was struck by a westbound Buick Regal that crossed the centerline.

She was taken to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, where she was later pronounced dead from her injuries.

The driver of the Regal, a 30-year-old Waukesha man, was also taken to Froedtert, where he was listed in critical condition Wednesday, according to the release.

The crash remained under investigation.
