Man claiming to have bomb robs Tri City Bank in Wauwatosa

A man claiming to have a bomb robbed the Tri City Bank inside a Pick 'n Save store in Wauwatosa on Thursday, police said.

The man walked into the store at 1717 N. Mayfair Road about 11 a.m., placed a box in a teller window, said it was a bomb and demanded money, according to a news release from Wauwatosa police.

After obtaining the money, he fled and the Milwaukee County bomb squad was called to the bank.

The box was determined not to be dangerous.
