Unsatisfied with the number of nontraditional schooling options within the Wauwatosa School District, a group of advocates hope to develop a school of its own.
The group, comprised of parents, educators and business leaders and known as Pathways High, hopes to open a new school in Wauwatosa to address a desire for nontraditional schooling options.
The organization seeks funding from XQ Super School Project, an initiative that re-imagines public high school in America by granting funds to selected applicants.
The Wauwatosa team will learn April 1 if its submission, Pathways High, has been chosen as a semifinalist for the funding.
The team will hold rally meetings March 15 at Hoyt Park's Grand Hall, 1800 N. Swan Blvd., where interested parties can learn more about the initiative. Two meetings will be held that day; from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and from 8 to 9 p.m.
To RSVP for one of the sessions, contact Julia Burns at jburns@pathwayshigh.org or Amber Regan at aregan@pathwayshigh.org.
