Wauwatosa West girls participate in Doug Johnson Invite

A scaled down Wauwatosa West girls track and field team finished 11 of 13 teams in the Doug Johnson Invitational on March 23 at West Allis Central.

The West girls scored only 8.5 points.

The 4x400 relay was the best finish, placing sixth in 5 minutes, 37.90 seconds (no names were available on the website).

Two freshmen finished seventh — Julia Larson in the 400 wheelchair (1:12) and Lauren Nemitz in the high jump (4-feet, 4 inches).

Finishing eighth were Baily Malone in the 55-meter high hurdles (11.56) and the 4x240 relay (2:50.56) with Moira Brown, Jada Grice, Alivia Kronberg and Jenna Lecher.

Both freshman Marisa Wilburn in the 200 (1:17.96) and sophomore Toriah Haanstad in the 1600 (7:09.55) each finished ninth.

The 4x160 relay took 12th (1:45.69) with Brishaun Baily, Moira Brown, Alivia Kronberg and Baily Malone.

Two freshman took 14th — Abby Kuna in the shot put (26-feet, 2½) and Larson 14th in the 200 (31.91).

Other participants were freshmen Lauren Nemitz, 17th in the 200 (32.30) and junior Jomari Ross was 18th in the shot put (21-1½).
