The Herb Kohl Education Foundation named Wauwatosa STEM teacher Margaret Barian as a recipient of the 2016 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Fellows Award.
"It is well deserved that Maggie was named a Kohl Education Foundation Fellow," said Wauwatosa STEM Principal Michael Heun. "Maggie is a great teacher who continues to look for ways to improve in her work with students, families and staff. She is an integral member of Wauwatosa STEM and our district."
Recipients of the fellowship are educators who have been chosen for their superior ability to inspire a love of learning in their students, their ability to motivate others, and their leadership and service within and outside the classroom, according to a news release.
Sixteen principals, 100 teachers, and 184 graduating high school students across the state received the $3,000 award.
