Junior Nick Price is one of four key returning players for Wauwatosa West boys tennis coach Kosta Zervas this spring.
Price was a No. 1 singles Woodland Conference champion last year and a state qualifier.
"Having Nick Price in our lineup gives balances and anchors the top of the lineup," Zervas said. "It's nice to have a player of his caliber. I am excited to see our players grow into their positions."
Price is joined by senior captains Quinn Barkow and Alec Lau and sophomore Bennett Inman.
Zervas also talked about some of the new faces to look for.
"We have several boys from the JV team last season who have made the jump to the varsity level: sophomores Danny Kuehn, Jacob Lueck and Akshay Bakshi, the latter new to the school/program.
"We also have a few freshmen who cracked the varsity lineup: Niels Peters, Ethan Boekenhauer and Zach Schumacher."
Zervas is looking for his young team to get some experience early in the season.
"We have a lot of players with very limited varsity experience," he said. "The early invites in our schedule will give them the opportunity to gain valuable match experience to begin the season. This should help with our late-season schedule."
Zervas listed the Raider/Trojan Invite and the Trojan/Spartan Invite as two of the highlighted meets on the schedule as both will have several top teams in the area participate.
