Wauwatosa East boys finish eighth at Mike Gain Invitational
Red Raiders win 4x800-meter relay
Wauwatosa East placed eighth out of 13 teams at the Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare Mike Gain Spartan Invitational on April 12 at Brookfield East.
The only winner for coach Mackenzie Laska was the 4x800-meter relay, which finished in 8 minutes, 32.19 seconds behind Jack Sveum, Tony Busalacchi, Sam Stelloh and Sam Potter.
Dan Scallon had a good day with two third-place performances in the 200 dash (23.66 seconds) and the 400 dash (52.99).
Nathan Green also finished third in the 1,600 run (4:39.61), Marquez Green was fourth in the 800 (2:04.48) and Alek Tyler was fourth in the 110 hurdles (16.76).
The 4x400 relay also placed fourth (3:42.02) behind Colin Bertz, Nathan Green, Marquez Green and Potter.
Ian Linscott in the 3,200 (11:05.10) and Stelloh in the 300 hurdles (42.49) both finished fifth.
Tayison Crape was sixth in the 110 hurdles (17.04), Jeremiah King was seventh in the 100 (11.88) and Jermaine Copeland was eighth in the shot put (46-0).
The 4x100 relay finished seventh (1:38.58) behind Elias Dotson, Avery Luckett, Tizell Hagan and Lewis Huenink.
Milwaukee United Relays
The Red Raiders won both hurdles events to highlight the way and managed one other top-three performance at the Milwaukee United Relays.
Matt Kubicek (18.12), Bertz (19.43) and Van McNulty (19.76) took first in the 110 hurdles, and Bertz (44.44), McNulty (46.07) and Kubicek (46.88) won the 300 hurdles.
The 4x800 relay was third (9:34.60 behind Nick Bartholf, Nicholas Lisowski, Andrew Casey and Noah Andrew.
