Wauwatosa West' Hannah-Howell, Jefferson shine at Sun Prairie Track Meet

The Wauwatosa West boys track and field team finished ninth out of 11 teams at the Sun Prairie Invitational on April 22 and coach Scott Jordan was pleased with his team's progress.

Paris Hannah-Howell finished second in the long jump with a leap of 20-feet, 5 inches, a personal record.

"Paris went over 20 feet in the long jump for the first time," Jordan said. "He is starting to move in that jump."

Hannah-Howell also was fourth in the high jump (5-8), scoring 13 of the team's 32 points.

Jovani Jefferson finished third in pole vault with a PR jump of 13-feet.

"Jovani cleared 13 feet for the first time in vault," Jordan said. "It was very exciting for him; a big confidence builder."

Other point scorers were the 4x800-meter relay which was fourth in 8 minutes, 51.14 seconds (Ngaru Nen, Jeremiah Cash, Joshua Cash, Logan Steinike).

The 4x200 relay finished fifth in 1:36.65 (Malik Bascom, Kyleon Parker, Michael Green, Hannah-Howell).

Green was seventh in the triple jump (39-feet, 113/4) and Parker was eighth in the 110 hurdles (18.43).

The 4x100 relay was eighth in 46.83 seconds (Aaron Johnson-Moorer, Savon Norrington, Henry Tyson, Green).

"It was a very competitive meet," Jordan summed up. "Our kids got some good experience."
