Wauwatosa announces plans for 2016 Memorial Day ceremony

Wauwatosa's Civic Celebration Committee, with the city, has announced details for this year's Memorial Day Ceremony.

The ceremony is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. May 30 at Longfellow Middle School, 7600 W. North Ave.

The one-hour ceremony will feature Dennis Konkel, a longtime Wauwatosa resident, a captain with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's training division and since 1987, a member of Wisconsin Army National Guard. He holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Army National Guard and is a veteran of two deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The Wauwatosa Community Band will also perform.
