The Wauwatosa West girls track and field team finished an impressive fifth place out of 20 teams at the Myrhum Invite on May 7 at Hartland Arrowhead.

The Trojans finished with 62 points behind Arrowhead (102 points), Milwaukee King (74), Middleton (66) and Oak Creek (65.5).

The 4x100-meter relay broke their own meet record, notching a season-best time (47.81 seconds) in the process. Azya McLin "ran fantastic," as well as her teammates Mercy Ndon, Bri Horton and CheriA Adams.

"The 4x100 time run by the girls puts them in the state record books as the fifth fastest time in state history as they continue to put up eye-popping numbers on what continues to be a very fun season," coach Jack LoPresti said.

McLin also had solid races in the 100, taking second (12.54), and in the 200, finishing fifth (26.29) — just a very complete day for West's senior leader.

Bri Horton and Kayla Crump both had really solid races in the 300 low hurdles as well with Horton notching her best time of the season (48.0) and Crump dipping back into the 47s (47.70). Ashley Salomone also had a season-best 300 low time (54.68) as well.

Bri Weigman took first in the high jump with an excellent performance (5 feet, 2 inches).

"Bri continues to be a very consistent and very high performing jumper," LoPresti said.

The girls 4x400 relay notched a season-best time (4:16.27) behind Julia Larson, Anna Roghan, Jade Tanjung and Crump.

"An excellent day for us at Arrowhead; we really enjoyed it," LoPresti said.
