Jr. Raiders look to fill football openings

The Wauwatosa East Jr. Raider football program still needs players for this fall's fifth- and sixth-grade football teams. Fourth-grade boys are welcome to play at the fifth-grade level as well.

To be eligible, players must either live or attend school in the Wauwatosa East High School attendance area. For more information, call John Dobbe, (414) 507-6226.

Pitcher Austin Jones helps 2016 UW-Whitewater baseball team

Austin Jones, a graduate of Wauwatosa West High School, is a member of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater baseball team, which won the Central Region championship and competed in its sixth NCAA Championship round since 2004 and seventh overall.

Jones earned All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honorable mention honors for his pitching this season.

County Parks offer

free golf for youths

Milwaukee County Parks is offering free golf green fees through two new programs this summer for youth 17 and younger.
