Wauwatosa police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying two individuals involved in a street robbery, eluding police and a bank burglary.

Around 1:50 a.m. May 30, officers responded to an armed robbery in the 6700 block of Milwaukee Avenue. The suspects fled the scene in a stolen Jeep Liberty with Wisconsin plate 651-PKU, according to a news release from the Wauwatosa Police Department.

The suspects were captured a short time later on video surveillance trying to use the victim's credit card.

Later that day, around 1:13 p.m., a Wauwatosa officer attempted to stop the Jeep, but the suspects fled and a short pursuit ensued. The Jeep was not found.

At 2:56 a.m. May 31, police responded to a burglary at UW Credit Union, 6510 W. State St. According to police reports, a brick was used to break a window on the building's south side, causing an estimated $1,000 in damage. Video surveillance shows the same Jeep, and likely the same suspects were involved, according to the release.

Then, around 10 a.m. June 1, the Jeep Liberty was recovered in the 8200 block of West Grantosa Avenue. Four suspects were seen abandoning the vehicle and attempting to take another, but were unsuccessful, according to the release.

One suspect is described as a black male age 14 to 16, 5 feet, 5 inches tall and between 120 and 140 pounds. The suspect has short hair with a small side part and was wearing a dark zip up sweat shirt with red lettering (possibly reading "Wisconsin') and tan shorts.

The second suspect is described as a black male, 14 to 16 years old, between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall, between 130 and 140 pounds, and longer, "Afro-style" hair. He was wearing a blue T-shirt and camouflage pants.

Anyone with information should call Detective James Short at (414) 471-8430 or anonymously contact Wauwatosa Crime Stoppers at (414) 771-8672 or anonymously text a tip to "crimes" using keyword "tosa."
