A new pizza eatery could soon open on North Avenue in Wauwatosa, pending city approval.

Applicant Gerry Ramos said the venue, which would be located at 6416 W. North Ave., would bring a "neighborly, friendly atmosphere."

While the menu and name of the proposed restaurant have yet to be determined, city documents indicate it would operate primarily as a carryout venue, but would provide seating for 12 inside and 12 outside. To accommodate the restaurant, an addition to the existing commercial storefront — which previously housed hair salons — would be constructed. A residential unit located to the rear of the property is attached to the commercial storefront.

Ramos said the restaurant would serve whole and by-the-slice pizzas.

Proposed hours of operation for the restaurant are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, according to the business plan submitted to the city. Two to three people would be employed.

Cranky Al's, located a few blocks away at 6901 W. North Ave., also serves pizza.

The city's plan commission is scheduled to review the proposal June 13.
