Barre District announces opening date for second studio near Wauwatosa

June 9, 2016

Barre District, a Bay View lifestyle studio announced Thursday an opening date for its second location just outside Wauwatosa.

The studio, which offers workout classes that are a hybrid of Pilates, yoga and ballet, will open at 5211 W. North Ave. in Milwaukee on July 9. The building previously housed an antiques store.

Co-owner Christina Zarnowski said while the first class is always free for new clients, the studio will offer a number of special promotions during opening day, including an open house for those interested in meeting the instructors and learning more about the classes offered.

The barre center will resemble a ballet studio with mirrors around the perimeter. There will be a ballet bar used for balance and stretching and the floor will be made of a textured, gym mat material. All students are required to wear socks with grips on the bottom, which they can purchase at the studio, if desired.

Once the studio is open, there will be free child care offered for select class times. There will be no child care on July 9.
