Wauwatosa seeks public input on proposed bike share project

June 10, 2016

Wauwatosa will hold a public involvement meeting June 22 to discuss a proposed bike share project in the city.

The meeting, held from 5 to 7 p.m., in the Lower Civic Room at Wauwatosa City Hall, 7725 W. North Ave., will familiarize the public with the proposed bike share system and seeks input from residents and business owners on proposed bike share station locations for the second phase of the project.

The project aims to provide an alternative mode of transportation suitable for short distance trips by providing riders the ability to pick up a bicycle at a self-serve bike station and return it to any another station within the system's service area. The second phase of the project will construct about 11 stations and provide about 110 bikes, adding to the eight stations and 75 bikes that will be installed in August 2016 during the project's first phase.

These additional 11 stations will be constructed in Wauwatosa in 2017.
