Free tight end camp still has openings

June 15, 2016

The annual free tight ends camp for players entering grades seven through 12 still has room for more players.

The camp is from 5-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, and Thursday, June 23, at Bradley Tech, 700 South 4th Street.

There is no cost and it includes a camp T-shirt and snacks.

Players should wear athletic shorts, shirts and football shoes for field turf and come ready to practice.

Director Jim Place is a former starting tight end and captain at Ball State University and a current high school tight end coach.

His staff consists of current and former NCAA players with expert insight.

"The entire staff is 100 percent dedicated to ensuring that every camper leaves the Milwaukee Tight End Camp with a positive experience and as an improved football player," Place said.

Playing tight end requires a unique and diverse skill set unlike any other position. Campers will receive position-specific instruction to help them meet these demands. In addition to football training, the staff will spend time on different aspects of work ethic and character development.

"This truly is a unique opportunity for a unique position," Place said. "Though camp is designed for tight ends, it is two great nights of general skills and character development. Any football player will benefit.

"Also if you have a quarterback that would like a workout, we are always looking for arms."
