The Wauwatosa Swordfish swim club took part in three meets over the past two weeks.

Competing for the Swordfish were Owen Crago, age 7, Eliana Putnum, 7; Gabe Scheper, 7; Josie Schwake, 7; and Olivia Watters, 8. All five swimmers set at least one personal best time.

The Swordfish set four new club records for 11- to 12-year-old girls at the Menomonee Falls Swim Club meet June 4-5.

Lauren Malinowsk, 12, set records and won in the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 2:33.79, 100-meter freestyle in 59.12 and 200-meter butterfly in 2:37.41. Maddie A. Bartz, 12, set a record in the 200-meter backstroke with a time of 2:18.37, finishing 3rd in that event.

Morgan Festerling, 8, had a good meet, finishing second in both the 50-meter back and 50-meter free, third in the 25-meter breast and fifth in the 25-meter fly.

Samantha Bartelt dropped five seconds in her 100-meter free and finished eighth. Nora Engbring, 12, dropped 28 seconds in her 200-meter free and placed ninth. Sylvia Teich, 12, competed in the 200-meter IM for the first time.

The Swordfish also set two team records in the meet. Bartz broke her own team record in the 50-meter back and placed second. Isabella Palazzari, 14, swam her first 400-meter IM, broke a six-year old club record and placed 13th in the event.
