The Zoological Society of Milwaukee has announced a new president and CEO.
Milwaukee native Jodi Gibson will return to her Wisconsin roots to lead the organization that aims to conserve wildlife and endangered species and educate the public about the importance of wildlife while also supporting the Milwaukee County Zoo.
"Gibson steps into her new role with a unique approach as she has held senior leadership positions in both the nonprofit and corporate sectors," said Zoological Society of Milwaukee board chair Caroline Krider.
Gibson has led fundraising activities for Feeding America, the country's largest hunger-relief charity and has served as the vice president of corporate social responsibility with two Fortune 200 companies – JC Penney and, most recently, Kellogg Company, according to a news release.
"Her extensive experience and hands-on style will greatly benefit the Zoological Society of Milwaukee in its mission to conserve wildlife and endangered species, educate people about the importance of wildlife and the environment, and support the Milwaukee County Zoo," Krider said.
