Wine and beer fundraiser benefits zoo's Dairy Complex

The Zoological Society of Milwaukee's Wines and Beers of the World fundraiser will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. March 24 at the zoo, 10001 W. Blue Mound Road.

Participants can sample numerous fine wines and beers, and foods, including cheesecake from Gourmet Cheesecake Shop and sausages from Usinger's. Alterra cooffee and Niemann's chocolates also will be available.

Guests can view the zoo's apes and primates from 7 to 9 p.m.

Proceeds will help the zoo upgrade Belle the Dairy Cow and other parts of the Dairy Complex.

Tickets cost $50 and must be purchased by calling (414) 258-2333.

Visitors must be 21 or older to attend, and an ID will be required at the door.

Family fun offered during Zootastic day of activities

Bring the family to the Zoological Society of Milwaukee's Zootastic event from 5 to 9 p.m. April 1 at the zoo, 10001 W. Blue Mound Road. Insider animal talks, animal-themed crafts, a dance party with a DJ and a family themed raffle will be offered, along with kid-friendly food and a family photo.

Register by March 25 for this fundraiser for the zoo by calling (414) 258-2333 or visiting zoosociety.org. The cost is $75 for a family of four, or $15 per child 12 or younger and $13 per person 13 or older.

Christian singer performs CD release concert

Mike Westendorf, Christian singer/songwriter is celebrating the release of his newest CD, "Undefined," with a concert at 7 p.m. March 25 in the Schwan Concert Hall at Wisconsin Lutheran College, 8815 W. Wisconsin Ave.

Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for youth 11 to 17, and free for kids 10 and younger. Tickets can be purchased online at mikewestendorf.com.
