Tosa will celebrate Fourth with full day of fun

The Wauwatosa Independence Day celebration will begin with a parade at 9 a.m. July 4, running along North Avenue between 104th and 80th streets. The day's theme is "One Nation, One People."

More than 75 units - including marching bands, floats, antique cars and more - will be present. There's something for everyone in the parade.

The celebration will continue at Hart Park beginning at 12:30 p.m. Highlights of what will be available there:

Jo Don Farms will offer pony and camel rides and a petting zoo until 3 p.m.

Music on the Move will provide inflatable rides and musical entertainment until 9 p.m.

Milwaukee Public Theatre performers

A children's bike, buggy and wagon parade at 1 p.m.

Children's entertainment, including face painting

Poms performances, Esprit Corps performances and jugglers at 1:30 p.m.

Games and races at 2:30 p.m.

Fireworks at 9:15 p.m. (to be launched from 70th Street, near the bridge)

Robertson Ace Hardware marks its 90th year

To celebrate its 90th year in business, Robertson Ace Hardware, 1417 Underwood Ave., is planning an event July 10 that will include a Radio Flyer parade, a display of historic photos, food and refreshments, and a short ceremony.

Dog training demonstration offered at Tosa library

Kids from kindergarten through eighth grade are invited to The Milwaukee Dog Training Show at the Wauwatosa Public Library on July 11. Two demonstrations will be offered that day, one at 10 a.m., the other at 1:30 p.m.

Seven to nine members of the Milwaukee Dog Training Club and their dogs will demonstrate dog safety, training and performance in the Firefly Room.

Registration is not required.
