Learn about recycling programs

The Waukesha County Department of Parks and Land Use recycling and water resources programs will be at local community fests in March. Expert staff will be available to answer questions about recycling, home composting, rain gardens and rain barrels as well as give out informational fliers and brochures.

March 27: 10 a.m. to noon and 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Community Education and Recreation Fair, WCTC – Waukesha Campus

March 29: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Lake Country Community Fest, Kettle Moraine High School

Literacy Council needs volunteer tutors

Literacy Council of Greater Waukesha (LCGW) is seeking volunteers to tutor children and adults in reading, writing, math and English as a second language. LCGW has informational meetings scheduled for 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 8, both at the LCGW office, 217 Wisconsin Ave., Suite 16, Lower Level, Waukesha.
