Wauwatosa West freshman attacked by schoolmates

Nov. 8, 2010

A Wauwatosa West High School freshman was beaten up by three teens while on his way home last week, according to a Wauwatosa police report.

Also according to the report:

The boy - whom family members described as mentally challenged and often bullied - was walking in the 2300 block of North 116th Street when three boys approached him. He had his headphones on, so he wasn't sure what they said before they "hockey-checked him," knocking him to the ground. Then they jumped on the boy and punched and kicked him about 20 times.

He was not seriously injured.

He did not recognize his attackers, but a West staff member driving by was able to identify two of the teens. She stopped the car and the attackers ran off, so she stayed with the victim until police arrived.

The two identified attackers, both 16-year-old boys who attend Wauwatosa West, were arrested for battery and sent to Children's Court.
