Spaghetti dinner, auction are part of choir fundraiser

The Wauwatosa West High School choir will host a spaghetti dinner and silent auction from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 11 at the school, 11400 W. Center St.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students and seniors. Proceeds will offset the costs of the choir's spring trip to New Orleans.

Advance purchase is required. Tickets are available through choir members or Judy Zanton at (414) 535-0220.

Children's Theatre presents 'Clouds' at Wauwatosa East

Children's Theatre of Wauwatosa will present "The Princess in the Clouds," performed by Concordia University of Mequon, at 2 p.m. Feb. 12 at Wauwatosa East High School, 7500 Milwaukee Ave.

Tickets are $4. The box office opens at 1:30 p.m.

Wauwatosa students advance to regional spelling bee

Students took part in the annual Wauwatosa Spelling Bee on Jan. 31 at Longfellow Middle School.

Finalists from the Wauwatosa School District who will be representing Wauwatosa at the Regional Spelling Bee are Mark Salamone, first place, Whitman Middle School; Sam Frederick, third place, Whitman Middle School; Sydni Fawson, fourth place, Longfellow Middle School; and Emma Tomaszek, fifth place, Longfellow Middle School.

Other Wauwatosa students who finished in the top 10 of the competition were Abby Amstadt, seventh place, Wilson Elementary; Audrey Naiva, ninth place, Roosevelt Elementary; and Emily Repetti, 10th place, Jefferson Elementary.

The regional competition will be held Feb. 17 at Hartford University School in Milwaukee, on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Wauwatosa music teachers will present recital Feb. 20

The Wauwatosa School District music faculty will present Simply Music, a faculty recital, at 3 p.m. Feb. 20 at Longfellow Middle School, 7600 W. North Ave.

Audience members can enjoy a selection of music performed vocally and instrumentally by members of the district's elementary, middle and high school music faculty.

The recital is free and open to the public.

Tosa PTA Council presents Founder's Day dinner Feb. 23

The Wauwatosa PTA Council will hold the annual Founder's Day dinner Feb. 23 at Alioto's, 3401 N. Mayfair Road.

The cash bar begins at 6 p.m., followed by a catered meal, student performances and guest speakers.

Admission is $25.
