ROBBERY

1A man who told children he was the son of God and on drugs tried to take a boy's bicycle at knifepoint outside Longfellow Middle School, 7600 W. North Ave., at 9:30 p.m. Sept. 16. The 16-year-old victim and four friends were walking past Wauwatosa Cemetery when the man approached and asked for marijuana. They said they didn't have any, so he asked for money. He told them to follow him to the graveyard. Two of the boys bolted, but the others joined him and listened as he told them he was the son of God. When they left to pick up their bikes at the school, the man followed. He showed a knife and demanded a bike. The boys realized the two who had left earlier had taken they key to the lock. The man said God was telling him he was going to have to kill someone, so they grabbed his arm and tackled him, wrestling the knife away. They said the man ran off, and they threw the knife away.

2A man armed with a knife took five iPads, valued at $3,560, from Target, 3900 N. 124th St., at 9:51 p.m. Sept. 19. He asked an employee questions about the devices, so she took one out of the locked case to show him. When she turned around, he was holding a knife. He said, "I swear to God, don't say anything." He put five devices in a backpack and ran out the fire exit.

BURGLARY

3A replica machine gun and a real rifle were taken from a home in the 100 block of North 121st Street between 8 p.m. Sept. 19 and 12:30 a.m. Sept. 20. Loss is estimated at $1,800. A door was forced open during entry.

4A lawnmower, snow blower and leaf blower were taken from a garage in the 4000 block of Glenway Court between 4 p.m. Sept. 20 and 8 a.m. Sept. 21. Loss is estimated at $1,100. The door was forced open.

5A snow blower was taken from a garage and a smart phone from an unlocked car in the driveway of a home in the 4000 block of Glenway Street between 6 p.m. Sept. 20 and 6 a.m. Sept. 21. Loss is estimated at $650.

6Three dental offices and a restaurant were burglarized in the Fairview Building, 10425 W. North Ave., prior to 6:40 a.m. Sept. 21. Cabinets and drawers were rummaged through in all the offices, and prescription pads were taken. Cash was taken from Taqueria and one of the dental offices.

7A television, wireless adapter, laptop computer and assorted electronics accessories were taken from a home in the 700 block of North 61st Street between 8:30 a.m. and 9:50 p.m. Sept. 23. Loss is estimated at $3,933. A window was broken to gain entry, and a small pile of feces with a footprint in it was found in the dining room.

8A lawnmower valued at $199 was taken from a garage in the 2600 block of North 67th Street between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Sept. 23.

9A door was forced open but nothing was taken from a garage in the 2600 block of North 68th Street between 12:30 and 10:30 p.m. Sept. 23.

10A snow blower valued at $225 was taken from a garage in the 2600 block of North 68th Street between 8:35 and 10:20 a.m. Sept. 24. A door was forced open to gain entry.

THEFT

11Two laptops were taken in March from the Wauwatosa West High School library, 11400 W. Center St., but due to facility remodeling, the theft was not reported until Sept. 16. Loss is estimated at $1,600.

12A woman took two combination tool kits, valued at $878, from The Home Depot, 4100 N. 124th St., at 6:51 p.m. Sept. 18. The same woman had attempted a similar theft at the West Allis store that afternoon.

13Two 19-year-old men and a 22-year-old woman were arrested for theft for taking two American flags, a Marine flag, a ceramic duck and two solar lawn lamps in the 1400 block of North 116th Street at 1:34 a.m. Sept. 21. The woman also was arrested for drug paraphernalia possession because she had a marijuana pipe and a cigarette rolling machine in her purse.

14A laptop computer valued at $650 was taken from a vehicle in the 7400 block of West State Street at 5:21 a.m. Sept. 21. A window was broken to gain entry.

15A 46-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for theft and a probation violation after staff reviewed security footage at Pick 'n Save, 6950 W. State St., at 9:45 a.m. Sept. 23. The man was recorded taking beer and liquor valued at $67, so an email of the images was sent to parole officers to see if anyone could identify the man. A parole officer said it was her client; he was to have been discharged from parole in two weeks.

16A 17-year-old Milwaukee boy was arrested for possessing theft tools and on a probation violation after he was suspected of taking jeans from The Buckle at Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 8:42 p.m. Sept. 24. He was confronted, so he dropped his bag and ran. The bag was lined with foil and tape; he was found hiding in the back of his car. He had several pairs of jeans in the vehicle, but none that matched the ones taken. He was wanted on a Greendale warrant for retail theft and a probation violation warrant for another retail theft.

17Designer sunglasses, a gaming device and cash were taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 7700 block of Geralayne Drive between 10 p.m. Sept. 24 and 9 a.m. Sept. 25. Loss is estimated at $1,250.

The Wauwatosa Police Department responded to seven thefts of items valued at less than $100 in the past week.

ACCIDENTS

18A 41-year-old woman was taken to Froedtert Hospital because of congestive heart failure after the vehicle she was riding in struck a fire hydrant and utility pole at Harwood Avenue and Kavanaugh Place at 8:49 p.m. Sept. 20. A 60-year-old man was driving her to the hospital when his front tire blew out and he lost control, veering off the roadway. The hydrant was knocked off the mount. He was arrested for driving with a suspended license and for driving without insurance.

VANDALISM

19The ignition was damaged on a 1996 Dodge Neon in the 2200 block of North 83rd Street between 5 p.m. Sept. 17 and 7:40 a.m. Sept. 19. Damage is estimated at $250.

20A wheelchair valued at $6,250 was damaged outside a home in the 2600 block of Wauwatosa Avenue on Sept. 19. The power cord was cut and wheel damaged, so the wheelchair needed to be replaced.

21A vehicle's windshield was shattered in the 6600 block of Romona Avenue at 4:16 a.m. Sept. 24. The owner said he was backing out of his driveway when he heard a pop and saw a fist-sized hole appear in the window before it shattered.

OTHER

22A 17-year-old Wauwatosa man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he was seen swinging a baseball bat above his head and looking into vehicles at 70th and Wright streets at 11:17 a.m. Sept. 22.

23A 49-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, second offense, after his vehicle struck a curb and two tires blew out at Swan and Wilson boulevards at 1:18 p.m. Sept. 22. He had taken four prescription pain and sleep aid medications.

24A case of bleach, vacuums and assorted cleaning supplies were fraudulently purchased using an account belonging to Luther Manor, 4545 N. 92nd St., prior to 2:17 p.m. Sept. 22. The buyer requested the items be sent to a Milwaukee address.

25A loaded .40-caliber handgun was found sitting on the rear tire of a Hummer in the underground parking lot of Arvada Place, 10900 W. Bluemound Road, at 2:51 p.m. Sept. 23. It belonged to the vehicle owner's neighbor, who said he didn't realize his gun was missing from its case.

Wauwatosa Police Department responded to 108 incidents including one outdoor fire, five vehicle accidents and 77 calls for emergency medical service in the past week.
