Police Report: Feb. 28

BURGLARY

1A snowblower valued at $200 was taken from a garage in the 3300 block of North Knoll Boulevard between 4 p.m. Feb. 19 and noon Feb. 21.

2Subwoofers valued at $250 were taken from a basement storage unit that had been forcibly entered at Normandy Village, 2580 N. 124th St., between 5 p.m. Feb. 19 and 3 p.m. Feb. 23.

3Three tires and rims, valued at $450, were taken from an unlocked garage in the 6800 block of West Wells Street between 2:15 p.m. Feb. 21 and 3:22 p.m. Feb. 24.

4The front door of a BP service station, 11417 Watertown Plank Road, and the ATM inside the convenience store were damaged between 10 p.m. Feb. 22 and 4:22 a.m. Feb. 23. Damage is estimated at $3,500.

THEFT

5A 26-year-old Milwaukee woman who worked as a manager at Target, 3900 N. 124th St., was arrested for theft after security staff noticed shortages in her tills totaling $3,400 between Nov. 18 and Feb. 20.

6A laptop computer, a computer case and a wallet, valued at $1,910, were taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 6300 block of Washington Boulevard between 7 p.m. Feb. 19 and 6 a.m. Feb. 20.

7A GPS and an MP3 player, valued at $400, were taken from a vehicle in the 6400 block of Betsy Ross Place between 10 p.m. Feb. 19 and 5:30 a.m. Feb. 20.

A Wauwatosa man learned his identity had been stolen after a mortgage company ran a credit check as part of his refinancing request on Feb. 20. His credit report showed another man had opened nine lines of credit and had two claim judgments totaling $3,445.

8A 26-year-old Waukesha woman was arrested for retail theft after she took clothing valued at $418 from Macy's at Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 2:38 p.m. Feb. 20. She walked into a fitting room with one purse and walked out with two purses filled with merchandise.

9A custom exhaust system valued at $600 was taken from a vehicle in the 11500 block of Watertown Plank Road between 5 p.m. Feb. 20 and 5:10 p.m. Feb. 21.

10A 26-year-old Brookfield man was arrested for retail theft and trespassing after he took clothing valued at $385 from Macy's in Mayfair at 3:07 p.m. Feb. 21. The man, who resisted arrest, was brought to the floor and handcuffed. He had been banned from the store for a theft that occurred last March.

11Two men ran out of Boston Store at Mayfair carrying 40 to 50 items of clothing valued at up to $5,300 at 3:10 p.m. Feb. 21. They walked about 20 feet into the store, grabbed arms full of clothing of a table and rack and made a run for it, all within about 15 seconds.

12A stereo system and emergency light bar, valued at $550, were taken from a vehicle at Bryant & Stratton College, 10950 W. Potter Road, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Feb. 22.

13A wallet was taken from a vehicle at Mount Zion Lutheran Church, 12012 W. North Ave., about 10:55 a.m. Feb. 22. A credit card was used to make fraudulent purchases totaling $283 at gas stations and retailers in Wauwatosa and West Allis.

14A man took nine shirts valued at $806 and left Macy's at 12:15 p.m. Feb. 22. A security guard was able to get the clothing away from him but he ran away.

15A purse valued at $100 was taken from Cousins Subs, 12325 W. Burleigh St., after the owner mistakenly left it in a booth between 5 and 8 p.m. Feb. 22.

16A purse valued at $300 was taken from a vehicle in the 2600 block of North 96th Street between 9 p.m. Feb. 22 and 8:30 a.m. Feb. 23.

17A man took a faucet valued at $232 from The Home Depot, 4100 N. 124th St., setting off an alarm at 5:48 p.m. Feb. 23. He was recognized as a suspect in numerous thefts at the store during 2011 and numerous thefts at other stores this year.

18A GPS, cellphone charger and eight packs of cigarettes, valued at $230, were taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 2600 block of North 62nd Street at 11:44 p.m. Feb. 24.

19A GPS valued at $400 was taken from an unlocked vehicle at the Radisson Hotel, 2303 N. Mayfair Road, at 10:29 p.m. Feb. 25. The engine was running on the vehicle.

20A man took sunglasses valued at $250 and fled from Solstice at Mayfair at 5:28 p.m. Feb. 26. The 27-year-old Milwaukee man he had been with at the mall was stopped in Lids and arrested on six warrants.

Police responded to eight thefts of items valued at less than $100 in the past week.

DRUG POSSESSION

21Three people - an 18-year-old Milwaukee woman and two Wauwatosa boys, ages 16 and 17 - were arrested for marijuana possession under the Harmonee Bridge, 7950 Harmonee Ave., at 8:55 p.m. Feb. 18. As the boys walked out of the woods toward the woman's car, a marijuana odor followed them. Together, they had 5.6 grams of marijuana, three marijuana pipes and a flask, thermos and bottle filled with alcohol. The 16-year-old was also cited for underage drinking.

22An 18-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for marijuana possession after people reported he was walking in the 10400 block of Blue Mound Road smoking and being rude to people passing by at 5:09 p.m. Feb. 19. He had 0.11 grams of the drug.

23A 23-year-old man was taken to Froedtert Hospital after he overdosed on heroin in his home in the 2500 block of North 83rd Street at 7:56 a.m. Feb. 20. His father found him unconscious and barely breathing on the floor of his bedroom. Paramedics treated him and he regained consciousness but seemed confused. He got up and said he was going to school, but paramedics insisted he go to the hospital. He became belligerent and resisted so he was handcuffed. Numerous pills as well as items used to shoot heroin were found in his room. He said he was a recovering oxycodone addict who started using again. The night before at a party he was given heroin and he shot up twice. When he woke that morning he decided to inject the same amount. He passed out shortly afterward. Police are considering a drug possession arrest.

24A 20-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of 0.73 grams of marijuana in the 10200 block of W. Capitol Drive, where he was stopped for driving with suspended registration and no valid driver's license at 4:23 p.m. Feb. 21.

25An 18-year-old Wauwatosa woman was arrested for possession of 0.22 grams of marijuana after she was stopped for the theft of clothing valued at $15 from Ragstock at Mayfair at 7:33 p.m. Feb. 21.

26An 18-year-old Manitowoc man was arrested for marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession after the scent of marijuana emanated from his vehicle at Garfield Avenue and Crestview Court at 6:13 p.m. Feb. 23. He had 0.74 grams of the drug.

27A 26-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession after her vehicle was pulled over for suspended license plates at Mayfair Road and Menomonee River Parkway at 8:56 p.m. Feb. 24. She had 14.86 grams of marijuana in her purse and a digital scale with drug residue on it. She had three warrants from the Menomonee Falls Police Department. The passenger, a 19-year-old Milwaukee woman, was arrested on warrants with Brown Deer police and the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office.

28A 20-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for marijuana possession after his vehicle was pulled over in the 800 block of Mayfair Road for suspended license plates due to unpaid parking tickets at 3:57 p.m. Feb. 26. He had 0.5 grams of the drug. He didn't have a valid driver's license and no one in the car was wearing a seat belt.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

29A 29-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving after his pickup truck struck a parked vehicle in the 6100 block of West Bluemound Road at 12:57 a.m. Feb. 24. The truck lost a wheel on impact. The driver put the vehicle in reverse and twice tried to hit the gas but the truck wouldn't go far on three wheels. He refused a breath test so blood was drawn.

30A 33-year-old West Allis man was arrested for drunken driving after he was seen driving erratically at Blue Mound Road and Glencoe Circle at 1:44 a.m. Feb. 25. His blood alcohol content was 0.14.

OTHER

31A 13-year-old Wauwatosa boy was arrested for disorderly conduct after he shot a pellet gun at a vehicle at 118th Street and North Avenue at 5 p.m. Feb. 18. There was no damage but the driver said he was scared because he saw the boy point what looked like a real gun at him.

32Three counterfeit $100 bills were taken in at Target, 3900 N. 124th St., between Jan. 31 and Feb. 19.

An 87-year-old Wauwatosa woman was scammed out of $1,400 after she sent a check to collect what she believed was $3 million in winnings from people claiming to represent the International Gaming Commission at 12:50 p.m. Feb. 20. She started getting calls in December and immediately was suspicious. But as the calls kept coming, she became more intrigued with the idea that she could be a winner. She agreed to send money to process her winnings.

33A 22-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he was seen spitting on cars and yelling obscenities in the 9400 block of West North Avenue at 12:01 p.m. Feb. 22. He was overheard saying he had a gun and threatening to kill everyone. When officers arrived, he said he had been listening to Lil Wayne music and had gotten carried away.

34A man received four counterfeit $100 bills in exchange for a smartphone he had listed for sale on Craigslist. He met a man at McDonald's, 3131 N. Mayfair Road, to make the transaction at 6:45 p.m. Feb. 22. After the buyer walked out, the seller noticed the bills didn't look right. The buyer's vehicle was tracked to Milwaukee, but the owner said she had given a friend and her boyfriend a ride to McDonald's earlier that day and had no knowledge of any problems.

35An 18-year-old Menomonee Falls man was arrested for drug paraphernalia possession after a glass pipe and a trace amount of marijuana was found on him in the 7800 block of Eagle Street at 11:35 p.m. Feb. 22. He and two other people were sitting in the vehicle in the dark when neighbors became suspicious.

36A woman called a fraudulent prescription for Vicodin into Walgreens, 10800 W. Capitol Drive, then arrived to pick it up at 11:49 a.m. Feb. 25. The pharmacist asked her to wait a few minutes, but she took off before police arrived.

Wauwatosa Fire Department responded to 65 incidents in the past week, including three fire alarms, two vehicle accidents and 50 calls for emergency medical service.
