BURGLARY

1A wallet valued at $100 was taken from an unlocked vehicle in a detached garage in the 2400 block of North 70th Street between 8 p.m. April 15 and 9 p.m. April 16.

2A residence was burglarized in the 2700 block of North 75th Street between 8 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. April 20. Electronic items valued at $1,750 were taken. The side door of the residence was kicked in. There are no suspects at this time.

THEFT

3An iPod and accessories valued at $210 were taken from a juvenile at the small gymnasium at Wauwatosa East High School, 7500 Milwaukee Ave., between 3:15 and 5:30 p.m. April 3.

4An iPod Touch and accessories valued at $280 and $10 in cash were taken from an unlocked gym locker at East High School between 8:56 and 9:47 a.m. April 17.

5A woman's wallet, valued at $30, was taken from her purse at 6:56 p.m. April 17 while she dined at Panera Bread at Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road. The wallet contained $40 and miscellaneous bank cards. The woman also reported that $490 was charged using her Best Buy credit card.

6Two Milwaukee men, ages 25 and 29, were arrested at 10:59 a.m. April 20 in the 3000 block of North 114th Street after taking a metal "hopper" valued at $770 and scrap metal valued at $50 from inside a fenced area.

7Two Milwaukee girls were arrested at 5 p.m. April 20 for taking clothing from Macy's at Mayfair. The 15-year-old took $130 worth of clothing items and the 17-year-old took $80 worth of clothing items.

8A book bag with miscellaneous items inside, including a text book and CDs valued at $300, were taken from a vehicle in the Dave & Buster's parking lot, 2201 N. Mayfair Road, between 5:55 and 7:23 p.m. April 20. The window was smashed; damage is estimated at $200.

9An 18-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for retail theft at 2:55 p.m. April 22 at Macy's at Mayfair after taking $170 worth of clothing items.

10A black 1995 Ford Windstar van valued at $2,000 was taken from a driveway in the 900 block of North 68th Street between 10 p.m. April 22 and 8 a.m. April 23. Inside were items valued at $720, including a digital camera. The van was unlocked and there was an ignition key left near the speedometer area.

11A suitcase containing $2,800 worth of items, including jewelry and clothing, was taken from a vehicle in the 200 block of North Mayfair Road at 12:38 p.m. April 23. The vehicle's window was broken.

12A 46-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for retail theft at 3:56 p.m. April 23 after taking $1,900 worth of merchandise from Macy's at Mayfair.

13A car stereo valued at $150 was taken from a vehicle in a driveway in the 9500 block of West Sarasota Place between 5 p.m. April 23 and 8 a.m. April 24. The car door was damaged due to forced entry. Damage was estimated at $300.

A man reported that an unauthorized transaction of $155 was made on his credit card at 1:12 p.m. April 10.

Police responded to nine thefts of items valued at less than $100 in the past week.

DRUG POSSESSION

14A 30-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested at 10:47 p.m. April 19 in the 2700 block of North 74th Street for possession of marijuana following a traffic stop. The man was pulled over for traveling 25 mph over the speed limit. A police officer was granted permission to search the vehicle after smelling marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and found a small bag of a leafy, green substance. The man was also arrested in 2003 for marijuana possession.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

15A 24-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving at 2:29 a.m. April 18 in the 7700 block of Harwood Avenue after police pulled him over for driving through the intersection of Harwood Avenue and Glenview Avenue without stopping. Because the man was vomiting when transported to the police station, police were unable to obtain an accurate breath sample and he was transported to the hospital for a blood draw.

ACCIDENT

16A 73-year-old woman was transported to Froedtert Hospital after her car struck a tree April 21 in the 900 block of North Mayfair Road. Police responded to the scene at 2:36 p.m. Witness statements indicated the driver passed out or had a medical issue. There were no signs of intoxication. The victim said she did not remember the events before the crash and complained of knee pain when police spoke with her at the hospital. The car received significant damage to the front as a result of the crash and caught fire. The fire was extinguished by the Wauwatosa Police Department.

VANDALISM

17A drinking glass was thrown through the window of a residence on the 2300 block of North 91st Street at 10:45 a.m. April 21. The storm window and interior window were broken. Damage was estimated at $1,000.

OTHER

18A 48-year-old Waukesha man was arrested for lewd and lascivious behavior at 2:41 p.m. April 17 in the 1500 block of Underwood Parkway after performing indecent acts for sexual gratification in the presence of a police officer and in public. It was discovered that the man uses the parkway as a meeting location with three or four friends to engage in sexual acts.

19A 17-year-old male was arrested for habitual truancy at 12:55 p.m. April 18 at East High School. The student has been truant either a full or partial day every day since April 2.

20A 19-year-old Wauwatosa man, a student at East High School, was arrested for disorderly conduct and underage drinking and a 16-year-old Wauwatosa juvenile was arrested for possession of tobacco by a minor and underage drinking at 2:39 p.m. April 18 at East. The juvenile had a blood alcohol content of 0.03 and the 19-year-old had a BAC of 0.14.

21A 37-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for soliciting without a license at 5:25 p.m. April 19 in the 2500 block of North 81st Street. The man was selling magazine subscriptions. Police were notified about a suspicious person in the neighborhood.

22A 59-year-old man was injured at 1:13 a.m. April 22 after he was electrocuted while performing routine maintenance on a power substation at the J.C. Penney warehouse, 11800 W. Burleigh St. The man suffered severe burns on his left hand and index finger. He was treated by Wauwatosa fire and rescue personnel and was transported to Froedtert Hospital. The victim advised that he must have missed a closed breaker during his routine check, therefore, the equipment was live when he came into contact with it. The incident was deemed to be an industrial accident.

23A juvenile male was arrested for substantial battery with a dangerous weapon at 9:15 a.m. April 23 at East High School after an incident that occurred at 2:25 a.m. April 21 in the 7800 block of West Wright Street. Police were called to a party because someone was injured on April 21. They found a juvenile male with wounds to his head. He was transported to Froedtert Hospital and received six stitches; he suffered a concussion. The injured male was also arrested for an underage drinking violation. Police arrested the second juvenile at the high school after the investigation lead police to believe he hit the second juvenile in the head with a metal object.

Police responded to one domestic violence incident in the past week.
