BURGLARY

1An MP3 player valued at $200 was taken from a vehicle in a locked parking garage in the 2500 block of North 124th Street between 11 p.m. July 21 and 7:30 a.m. July 22.

2Two boys took a bicycle valued at $103 from an open underground garage in the 9600 block of Hampton Avenue at 6:20 p.m. July 23. One boy was riding a bike, while the other was riding the handlebars when they entered the garage. They both left riding bikes.

3A GPS unit and an MP3 player, valued at $350, were taken from a vehicle inside a garage in the 9200 block of Stickney Avenue between 10 p.m. July 23 and 5:45 a.m. July 24. A garage door opener was taken from a vehicle on the driveway that had the window open.

4Two bicycles, valued at $600, were taken from a garage in the 9200 block of Stickney Avenue between 5:45 and 6:40 a.m. July 24. A car outside the garage was unlocked and a garage door opener was removed from it.

5Two bicycles valued at $650 were taken from an unlocked garage in the 2500 block of North 66th Street between 7:30 p.m. July 25 and 5:15 a.m. July 26.

6A video game system, DVDs, video recorder and two laptop computers, valued at $2,350, were taken from a home in the 4400 block of North 100th Street before 5:30 p.m. July 26.

7A video game system valued at $300 was taken from a home in the 4400 block of 100th Street between 9:20 and 10 p.m. July 26. The screen on an open window had been cut.

THEFT

8A handgun valued at $1,200 had been taken from a locked case in a home in the 11600 block of Woodland Avenue between June 1 and July 26.

9Two rings and an air conditioning unit, valued at $800, were taken from a home in the 11300 block of West North Avenue between 7 a.m. July 15 and 7 a.m. July 18. A roommate recently released from prison had been having parties and he had returned other rings that had been taken previously.

10Headphones valued at $178 were taken from a backpack in the Wauwatosa East High School gym, 7500 Milwaukee Ave., between noon and 6 p.m. July 18.

11A man took a tool kit valued at $499 from The Home Depot, 4100 N. 124th St., at 3:01 p.m. July 21.

12A 40-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for retail theft after he took sunglasses valued at $200 from Solstice at Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 6:30 p.m. July 21.

13An 18-year-old man and 15-year-old girl, both from Milwaukee, were arrested for possession of stolen property after they took two electronic tablets, valued at $1,400, from a backpack that was set down while a customer played a video game at Dave & Buster's, 2201 N. Mayfair Road, between 6:30 and 7:23 p.m. July 21. The backpack was turned in but the tablets were missing. The owner used an app to track the items to Marion and 62nd streets, where people were using tablets and an inflatable item with a Dave & Buster's logo.

14A purse and MP3 player, valued at $250, were taken from a vehicle at Hoyt Park, 1800 Swan Blvd., between 9:20 a.m. and 2:35 p.m. July 22.

15A woman filled her cart with a large amount of meat and alcohol and walked out without paying at Pick 'n Save, 6950 W. State St., at 7:40 p.m. July 22. She and a man were putting most of the items in the trunk when a security guard confronted them. They pushed the cart toward him and took off in the vehicle.

16A bicycle valued at $150 was taken from a driveway in the 7400 block of Hennessey Avenue between 11:30 p.m. July 22 and 6 a.m. July 23.

17Cash was taken from a stroller rental machine at Mayfair between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. July 23. The machine had pry marks on it.

18A purse valued at $220 that had been left on top of a car in the Mayfair parking lot was taken about 2:25 p.m. July 23.

19Two Milwaukee women, ages 18 and 19, were arrested for retail theft after they took jewelry valued at $1,066 from Macy's at Mayfair at 4:16 p.m. July 23. They each were pushing a stroller with a baby inside and had come to the mall to fill out job applications and have lunch with a family member. They said they got distracted by the jewelry and tried to hide numerous pieces in the strollers and diaper bags.

20A 72-year-old Cudahy man was arrested for retail theft after he filled a cart with items valued at $384 at Goodwill, 12121 W. Feerick St., and pushed it out of the store at 4:49 p.m. July 23. He said he sells the items at rummage sales to make money.

21A cellphone valued at $400 was taken from an office at the Medical College of Wisconsin's psychiatric practice, 1155 N. Mayfair Road, between 10 and 10:30 a.m. July 24.

22A 16-year-old Brookfield girl was arrested for retail theft after she took items valued at $428 from six stores at Mayfair at 2:53 p.m. July 24. She sad she doesn't drink or smoke so shoplifting is her way of acting out, but that she always feels bad afterward.

23A wallet was taken from a desk at Yost & Bailk, 2300 N. Mayfair Road, at 5:55 p.m. July 24. A credit card was used to make $300 in unauthorized charges.

24A man took a dozen bottles of vodka valued at $360 from Pick 'n Save, 1717 N. Mayfair Road, and drove off at 8:25 a.m. July 25.

25A GPS valued at $100 was taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 2400 block of North 65th Street between 9 p.m. July 25 and 7:30 a.m. July 26.

26A 32-year-old Shorewood man was arrested for retail theft after he used a razor blade to open packages of video game controllers valued at $165 at Target, 3900 N. 124th St., at 2:42 p.m. July 26. Security got suspicious when they saw him dancing in the aisles. He said his family business had closed so he planned to sell the stolen items for money.

27A satchel filled with electronics, valued at $540, was taken from a vehicle at Target between 4:55 and 5:15 p.m. July 26. A window had been broken.

28Two Milwaukee women, ages 42 and 48, were arrested for retail theft after they put seven bottles of liquor valued at $259 in their purses and left Metcalfe's Market, 6700 W. State St., at 1:49 p.m. July 27.

29A bicycle valued at $1,500 that had been locked to a railing was taken from Fitness Together, 2525 N. Mayfair Road, between 2 and 9 p.m. July 27.

30A catalytic converter valued at $1,200 was taken from a vehicle and the muffler cut at Mayfair at 4:45 p.m. July 27.

31A Dodge Caravan that had been stolen from Milwaukee was found abandoned with the ignition damaged in the 4000 block of North 92nd Street at 2:53 a.m. July 28.

32A man hid personal hygiene products valued at $253 and tried to leave Metcalfe's Market at 9:54 a.m. July 28. He let go of the items and ran when he saw police. A foot pursuit started but ended when an officer pulled a hamstring. A canine officer was brought in but was unable to track the suspect.

33An e-reader and purse, valued at $300, were take from a vehicle with a window partially open at McDonald's, 6631 W. North Ave., between 11:30 a.m. and noon July 28.

34A 28-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for retail theft after she put clothing valued at $234 under her own at Boston Store at Mayfair at 6:06 p.m. July 28. She had a felony warrant for a parole violation.

35A 52-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for retail theft after he put four boxes of cologne down his pants at Sephora in Mayfair at 11:47 a.m. July 29. The same man had taken two other boxes of cologne on July 26. The total value was $392.

36A 43-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for retail theft, trespassing and violating probation after he took four watches valued at $236 from Boston Store at 5:22 p.m. July 29. He had been banned from entering any Boston Store for his lifetime due to numerous prior retail thefts.

Wauwatosa Police Department responded to 12 thefts of items valued at less than $100 in the past week.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

37A 40-year-old Wauwatosa woman was arrested for drunken driving, third offense, after she showed up intoxicated and tried to buy alcohol at Tobacco Outlet Plus, 11712 W. North Ave., at 11:11 a.m. July 20. She refused to give a breath sample. She checked herself into Aurora Psychiatric Hospital to get help with drinking.

38A 26-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving after his car was seen speeding with its high-beam headlights on at 102nd Street and Capitol Drive at 4:43 p.m. July 23. His blood alcohol content was 0.14.

DRUG POSSESSION

39A 16-year-old Wauwatosa boy was arrested for marijuana possession after he was seen smoking at Wauwatosa West High School, 11400 W. Center St., at 8:47 a.m. July 24. He had a pipe and 1.24 grams of marijuana, which he said he bought from a man at the Fisher Building playground.

VANDALISM

40A large paving brick was thrown through a window of a vehicle in the 7000 block of West Bluemound Road at 10:33 a.m. July 22. It had a handwritten note nailed to it that said "U got more coming U snitched on the wrong people."

41A 16-year-old boy was arrested for vandalism after he damaged a fire door at Carmelite Home for Boys, 1214 Kavanaugh Place, at 10:40 a.m. July 22. He had run away for a few days, but returned. A warrant had been issued for his detention by Children's Court.

42A door was kicked in and a key broken off in the lock at an apartment in the 2600 block of Wauwatosa Avenue between 4 and 4:30 p.m. July 22.

43A rock was thrown through the window of a pavilion causing $150 in damage at Madison Park, 9800 W. Glendale Ave., at 8:48 a.m. July 24.

44An ignition and steering column were damaged on a vehicle at Luther Manor, 7500 W. North Ave., at 5:24 p.m. July 27.

45A 5-year-old girl was nearly struck with a rock that was thrown through a window at a home in the 2600 block of Wauwatosa Avenue at 10:53 a.m. July 29. Teens were seen running from the area. They had thrown a brick through another window at the apartment earlier that morning. Damage was estimated at $300.

OTHER

46Two women, a 24-year-old from Milwaukee and a 27-year-old from Greendale, fought while exchanging custody of a child in the Mayfair parking lot at 3:05 p.m. July 20. The mother of the child was angry with the father's fiancé for beeping her horn. They started yelling and were slapping and pulling hair. Both women were pregnant. Officers couldn't decide who was at fault, so they simply told the women not to have contact.

47A woman locked herself the bathroom of the lobby at the Days Inn, 11811 W. Bluemound Road, after she got into a fight with a male friend in the parking lot at 8:04 p.m. July 22. They argued and he tried to take her phone. They struggled and she was hit in the eye. He left before police arrived.

48A 20-year-old Wauwatosa man was arrested for prowling after he was seen looking into a vehicle at 70th and Wright streets at 1:16 a.m. July 23. He saw a cop and ran, jumping a picket fence and falling before taking off again. His father brought him into the police station three days later.

49A 32-year-old Pewaukee man was arrested for drug paraphernalia possession after his vehicle was pulled over for expired registration at 114th and Burleigh streets at 4:29 p.m. July 25. A police dog detected a marijuana pipe in the glove box.

50A man received a counterfeit $100 bill - a washed out and reprinted $5 bill - when he cashed a check at Walmart Neighborhood Market, 3850 N. 124th St., at 9:30 p.m. July 25. He learned it was fake when he used it to pay at the BP gas station at 76th and Center streets.

51Pry marks were found on a garage door in the 2400 block of North 65th Street at 12:30 a.m. July 26. About an hour later a man who had a warrant for prowling was stopped in the 7100 block of Clarke Street with a hammer tucked in his waistband. However, it was determined he was not involved in the garage break-in.

52A 49-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested on a warrant for disorderly conduct after he was seen walking at Milwaukee and Wauwatosa avenues in a hospital gown at 7:26 a.m. July 29. He said he had just been discharged from Froedtert Hospital.

Wauwatosa Police Department responded to one domestic violence incident in the past week.
