Police Report: Nov. 6

ROBBERY

1A 22-year-old man called police after he was robbed of $526 of items including his wallet, two cellphones and cash in the 7700 block of Harwood Avenue between 9:30 and 9:50 a.m. Nov. 2. The man said that he "felt something cold pressed against the back of his head," causing him to freeze and be patted down by two unidentified people, who took his items and ran.

BURGLARY

2A laptop computer, coin collection and wallet were taken from a house in the 2600 block of North 62nd Street between 8 a.m. Oct. 21 and 1 p.m. Oct. 26. The victim initially believed the wallet was lost at Sendik's, but reassessed her judgment when she noticed the laptop computer and coin collection missing. Total loss is $1,450.

3A rock was thrown threw a window in an attempt to burglarize a BP gas station at 11417 Watertown Plank Drive between 11:40 and 11:47 p.m. Oct. 31. Police believe that the burglars fled due to the alarm sounding. No items were taken.

THEFT

4A cast iron hitching post was taken from a yard in the 6800 block of Milwaukee Avenue between noon Oct. 26 and 11 a.m. Oct. 29. The post was very heavy and cost $300.

5A catalytic converter worth $2,000 was unbolted from a truck at Elite Energy Distribution, 4700 N. 124th St., between 4 p.m. Oct. 27 and 8:30 a.m. Oct. 29. Police are awaiting video surveillance.

6A laptop computer valued at $579 was taken from Office Max, 12140 W. Burleigh St., at 4:51 p.m. Oct. 29. The thief took the computer under his arm and ran out the exits when no one was looking.

7A vehicle's window was smashed and a wallet stolen from it while it was parked in the 11600 block of West North Avenue between 5:15 and 6:30 p.m. Oct. 29. A tablet computer and purse in the vehicle were not taken, but a wallet and its contents including credit and identification cards were taken. Total loss is $280.

8A digital media player valued at $320 was taken from a room at the Holiday Inn, 11111 W. North Ave., between 3:30 a.m. and 5:17 p.m. Oct. 31. The victim believes that a housekeeper stole the item, as his room was cleaned and there was a documented work being done on that site at that time.

9A bicycle valued at $700 was taken from the front of a building in the 500 block of Maywood Avenue between 10 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. Oct. 31.

10A cellphone valued at $330 was taken from Verizon Wireless, 2711 N. Mayfair Road, at 3:25 p.m. Oct. 31. Police are reviewing video surveillance.

11A van was taken from the parking lot of Walgreens, 2275 N. Mayfair Road, at 5:40 p.m. Oct. 31. The victim said that he knew the thief and left him in the van running when it was taken.

12A purse and its contents, including credit and identification cards valued at $245, were taken from a car parked at Currie Park Golf Course, 3535 N. Mayfair Road, between 10:35 and 11:15 a.m. Nov. 1. The car's window was shattered to gain entrance. The victim's bank cards were used shortly after the theft to make a $400 purchase.

13An 18-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for taking a pair of jeans valued at $109 from Buckle, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 1:36 p.m. Nov. 2.

14A 53-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested after taking $179 of underwear from Boston Store, 2400 N. Mayfair Road, at 10:24 a.m. Nov. 3. The man has two prior retail theft arrests.

15A 54-year-old Milwaukee woman and her 24-year-old daughter were arrested after taking $160 of items including milk, a Christmas wreath and carpet cleaner from Target, 3900 N. 124th St., at 12:25 p.m. Nov. 3. The two said that while they had enough money to pay for the items, they saw an opportunity to steal and took it by walking between two unmanned registers.

16A cellphone valued at $600 was taken after its owner set it on a counter at Mayfair Mall, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 4:18 p.m. Nov. 3.

Police responded to eight thefts of items valued at less than $100 in the past week.

DRUG POSSESSION

17An 18-year-old Wauwatosa man was arrested and charged for possession of paraphernalia after turning left in a no-turn lane in the 1800 block of Martha Washington Drive at 7:10 p.m. Oct. 31. The man was leaving from the Wauwatosa municipal court regarding a prior marijuana arrest. The man had a can that could break in half that contained a pipe with burned marijuana in it.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

18A 35-year-old Wauwatosa woman was arrested for drunken driving, second offense, after she hit a graveyard sign and crossed the centerline in the 2400 block of Wauwatosa Avenue at 2:02 a.m. Nov. 11. Her blood alcohol content was 0.26.

ACCIDENTS

19A 60-year-old Milwaukee woman was taken to Froedtert Hospital for head, neck, chest, shoulder and leg pain after a semi struck her as she was trying to pass it in the 8700 block of Watertown Plank Road at 2:47 p.m. Oct. 30. The semi was in the right lane and she was in the curb lane while the accident happened. Witnesses say that she tried to pass it as it was turning. She was issued a citation for unsafe turning.

20A man was taken to Froedtert Hospital for leg and neck pain after a vehicle pulled in front of him through a flashing yellow light, causing the collision at the intersection of Mayfair and Walnut roads at 1:21 a.m. Nov. 1. The second driver was cited for failure to yield while making a left turn.

OTHER

21A stolen 2011 Chevrolet Malibu was found in the parking lot of Mayfair Mall, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 29. Mall security, noticing the vehicle had been sitting in the parking lot for multiple days with multiple tickets, decided to call police. The doors were locked and the ignition was not tampered with.

22A 22-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for disorderly conduct after spitting and swearing at patrons of Mayfair Mall, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 7:56 p.m. Oct. 29. This was the man's 26th adult arrest, 11 of which were for disorderly conduct.

23Four Wauwatosa West High School boys, two aged 16 and two 17, were arrested after police found one smelled like alcohol at Wauwatosa West High School, 11400 W. Center St., at 1:44 p.m. Oct. 31. One student had no alcohol in his system. The other's BACs were 0.035, 0.034 and 0.017.

A Wauwatosa resident received a death threat from a 35-year-old Indianapolis man at 2:49 p.m. Oct. 31. The Wauwatosa man was a fraud investigator who denied the Indianapolis man of an insurance payment.

24A woman called police after her boyfriend physically assaulted her at BW3, 2635 N. Mayfair Road, at 7:49 p.m. Oct. 31.

25A 55-year-old Wauwatosa man died while jogging at the intersection of Menomonee River Parkway and Charles Hart Parkway at 9:38 p.m. Nov. 1.

Police responded to two domestic disturbance calls in the past week.
