Police Report: Nov. 20

BURGLARY

1Multiple items including a coffee table, patio chairs and car rims were taken from a storage unit in the 2500 block of North 124th Street between Aug. 5 and 8:15 p.m. Nov. 13. The total value of the items is $1,310, and the fence was cut to allow the thieves to take the items.

2The front window of Walgreens, 10800 W. Capitol Drive, was smashed out and several cartons of cigarettes taken from it at 2:46 a.m. Nov. 17. Police believe the suspect used a hammer to smash the glass and are reviewing video surveillance.

THEFT

A woman called police after receiving a $2,000 bill from Time Warner for an account opened in Milwaukee under her name. The bill was for 2008-2009, when she was residing in Waukesha. The victim has never lived in Milwaukee.

3Cash valued at $613 was taken from Rocket Baby Bakery, 6822 W. North Ave., at 12:15 p.m. Nov. 11. An employee is suspected of the theft. The employee turned himself in on an unrelated felony charge with probation and parole shortly after the cash went missing.

4A cellphone valued at $550 was taken from the Verizon Wireless Kiosk inside Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 8:47 p.m. Nov. 12. It was in an unlocked display case.

5A 51-year-old Mequon woman was arrested after taking rings and accessories valued at $242 from Coach Leather, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 4:01 p.m. Nov. 13. She was returning a purse and put the rings in a pair of gloves.

6A steel awning was taken from Tosa Yoga, 6734 W. North Ave., at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 13. The awning, valued at $250, was tied up and 16 feet long. Witnesses say they saw a brown truck leaving the scene of the theft.

7A 20-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for taking $292 of jewelry from The Boston Store, 2400 N. Mayfair Road, at 1 p.m. Nov. 14. The woman was using a foil-lined bag to steal the items.

8A 30-year-old Glendale woman was arrested for taking $239 of workout clothes and a diaper bag from Target, 3900 N. 124th St., at 3:26 p.m. Nov. 14.

9A GPS valued at $220 was taken from a car parked in the 2400 block of North 111th Street between 8 p.m. Nov. 14 and 8 a.m. Nov. 15. The vehicle was locked and undamaged.

10A tablet computer valued at $540 was taken from a student at Wauwatosa West High School, 11400 W. Center St., at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 15. The student said that it went missing after a math class.

11A 49-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for taking $109 of meat and alcohol from Sentry Foods, 6700 W. State St., at 4:17 p.m. Nov. 15. The man was arrested for taking from Sentry in 2010 and has two open warrants for theft by contractor. When police went to the man's house, he ran away in his car and was stopped and arrested.

12A woman reported her credit cards stolen from her while she was eating at Panera inside Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, between noon and 12:45 p.m. Nov. 16. The cards were used to make a purchase at the Apple store in Mayfair before she could cancel them.

13A 16-year-old Milwaukee girl and a 19-year-old Milwaukee woman were arrested for taking $409 from The Buckle, Forever 21 and Victoria's Secret, at Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 3:04 p.m. Nov. 17. The two used a foil-lined bag to take the items.

14A bicycle valued at $100 was taken from outside Walgreens, 2656 Wauwatosa Ave., at 3:26 p.m. Nov. 18. Video surveillance shows the bike being taken in the two or three minutes the victim was in the store.

Police responded to seven thefts of items valued at less than $100 this past week.

ASSAULT

15A woman was punched in the mouth by her husband while driving in the 1700 block of North Mayfair Road at 12:38 p.m. Nov. 18. The husband hit her because she wouldn't give him money to to stop and eat food.

DRUG POSSESSION

16Two Wauwatosa boys, 17, were arrested for drug possession and alcohol consumption at Bowlero Lanes, 11737 W. Burleigh St., at 10:30 p.m. Nov. 14. The managers of Bowlero have noticed teenagers smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol before and between games, so they called for extra patrols. While looking at the vehicles, one officer found two half-empty 40-ounce bottles of booze and a bong. Officers caught the boys as one was about to pour the booze out. Their blood alcohol contents were 0.010 and 0.038. They had three fake drivers licenses in the car and had a small amount of marijuana on them as well.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

17A 28-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, third offense, in the 500 block of Glenview Avenue at 1:20 a.m. Nov. 18. The man refused to provide a breath sample and blood draw results are pending.

ACCIDENTS

18An 89-year-old woman was taken to Froedtert Hospital after she hit a semi truck, causing her car to spin around and hit a car in the 10200 block of West Burleigh Street at 1:14 p.m. Nov. 10. The driver and passenger of the semi were taken to Froedtert Hospital. The driver of the second car was taken to West Allis Memorial Hospital. The 89-year-old woman was treated on-scene for a heart attack.

19A 51-year-old man was taken to Froedtert Hospital after he ran into a parked vehicle in the 2200 block of Swan Boulevard at 10:29 a.m. Nov. 12. The man had head injuries. Police believe the crash was caused by a medical complication the man suffered.

20A 22-year-old Milwaukee woman was taken to Froedtert Hospital for back pain after she was rear-ended at the intersection of Bluemound Road and 121st Street at 6:33 p.m. Nov. 14. The second driver, a 16-year-old Brookfield boy, said he was putting a drink down and did not see the first vehicle slow for a red light.

VANDALISM

21A lock was broken and graffiti was spray-painted on three light poles and the entrance gate of Hart Park, 7300 W. Chestnut St., before 9 a.m. Nov. 18. The words said "STAPH" "BA" and "cpsw." Damage is estimated at $500.

OTHER

A woman called police after she became suspicious of a man she met on an online dating website. She did a web search for his name and found that he dates other women and uses their personal information to open accounts with their permission. The man asked for her exact address and ZIP code. She has not been a victim of him yet. She also found that he uses multiple identities to open the accounts.

22An 18-year-old Wauwatosa man was arrested for having six outstanding warrants after police and educators met with him at Turning Point, 9501 Watertown Plank Road, at 4:39 p.m. Nov. 9. The man signed the PR bonds and agreed to have a separate court date. Two of the warrants were for possession of tobacco, one was for possession of alcohol.

23A 28-year-old Milwaukee man and a 24-year-old Shawano woman were arrested for trespassing in a house in the 4600 block of North 100th Street at 1:29 p.m. Nov. 12. The house was boarded up and vacant while they were there. A neighbor saw them and called police, who found the two in the house. The two were using an unlocked kitchen window to get into the house.

24A 14-year-old Wauwatosa boy was arrested for disorderly conflict after he was involved in a fight at Wauwatosa East High School, 7500 Milwaukee Ave., at 2:31 p.m. Nov. 13. The fight began with the 14-year-old threatening another 14-year-old before pushing him into tables. The fight was broken up by teachers.

25A 35-year-old Wauwatosa man called police after he saw a man break into his car and rummage through it in the 6400 block of West Wisconsin Avenue at 1:54 a.m. Nov. 16. The man chased the would-be thief, who got away from him. Nothing of value was found or taken. No evidence was found at the scene and no damage was done to the car.

26A counterfeit $100 bill was used at Honey Baked Ham Store, 817 N. Mayfair Road, at 5:29 p.m. Nov. 16. The customer had won the bill at Oneida Casino and paid with other bills were authentic. The bill didn't feel right and had a $5 security thread.

27A Mayfair Mall employee called police after receiving a suspicious tweet to the mall, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 10:14 a.m. Nov. 18. The tweet read "Wake and bake dis loud an go shut down Mayfair mall!!" The tweet is translated as saying that the person is going to get high after waking up and going to cause a disturbance at the mall. There were no reported cases of disorderly conduct at the mall.
