Nationally known speaker to address teens on drug abuse

A parents group that formed after the drug overdose death of Madison Kiefer is bringing a nationally known motivational speaker to talk to students and parents in the Whitefish Bay, Shorewood and Wauwatosa areas.

Kiefer, a 15-year-old freshman at Whitefish Bay High School, overdosed on two prescription drugs March 1. Her death heightened concerns about drug use among adolescents.

The group that formed, Bay United, is bringing Milton Creagh to the area for presentations on Feb. 1 and 2. Creagh, who speaks on drug abuse and other issues affecting teens, will speak to students at Wauwatosa East and West high schools on Feb. 1 and to parents from the Wauwatosa area that evening.

On Feb. 2, Creagh will speak to students at Shorewood middle and high schools and at St. Robert School in Shorewood. He will give a presentation that evening at Whitefish Bay High School for North Shore-area parents.

Times and other details are still being arranged.
