Goodwill now accepting used TVs, working or not

Jan. 18, 2010

Wauwatosa residents can dispose of their used televisions at no cost through the Goodwill Store and Donation Center, 12121 W. Feerick St., beginning today.

Goodwill will sell working televisions in its stores throughout southeastern Wisconsin, and CRT Processing will handle and process any sets that no longer work and those that go unsold, according to a news release from the organization.

These efforts follow Goodwill's partnership with Dell, established in July, to recycle old computer equipment.

Televisions and computers are on the list of electronic devices the state will soon ban municipalities from putting into landfills. City officials have been working with Goodwill to find cost-free disposal options for Wauwatosa residents. The city will stop accepting electronic devices at the municipal drop-off center later this year.
