Residents can drop off items on Thursdays this summer

The Public Works Drop-Off Center is offering extended hours Thursdays throughout summer to ease the congestion that builds up on weekends and give residents more options as to when they can dispose of items.

Through Sept. 9, residents can use the Drop-Off Center, 11100 W. Walnut Road, between 4:30 and 7 p.m. The following items will be accepted: clean fill, commingled recyclables, motor oil, paper product, reusable household items for the Salvation Army, scrap metal, textiles for Goodwill, wood and yard brush, branches and leaves.

Permit holders can take away wood chips, leaf mulch and fire wood.

Permits are required to use the Drop-Off Center. A $5 one-time use permit or a $20 annual permit can be purchased at the center.
