Feb. 7, 2012

Is there a rumor you've heard that you would like to track down? Is there something in the community that needs to get fixed? Mary Malahy explains some of the mysteries of life in the Tosa area.

How many vehicles respond in an emergency?

Issue: A reader is curious to know how the Fire Department decides how many vehicles to send when responding to emergency calls.

Status: I spoke with Assistant Chief Jim Case and he said the number of vehicles sent depends on the severity of the call. A basic emergency call will typically require one ambulance whereas a structure fire will require multiple vehicles. He added that every car accident gets at least one ambulance and one fire truck, and more vehicles are added as needed.
